This policy explains what horseracingtips.io collects when you visit, why, and what you can do about it. It is written to be read rather than to be defended, so if anything here is unclear, ask and it will be made clearer.
Who we are
Horse Racing Tips is a free horse racing tipping and information site covering Britain and Ireland. We are the data controller for the information described below. You can reach us at privacy@horseracingtips.io.
The short version
- There are no accounts on this site. We never ask you to register, and we do not collect names, addresses, dates of birth or payment details.
- We use Google Analytics to understand which pages people read. It is switched off until you agree to it.
- We earn money when someone opens a bookmaker account through a link here. That bookmaker, not us, is then responsible for the data you give them.
- We do not sell your data, and we do not run advertising networks that profile you across other sites.
What we collect
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 (property G-RX2P4WYTDW) to count visits and see which
previews are read. It records things like the pages you view, roughly where in the world you are,
the type of device you use, and which site sent you here. It does not tell us who you are.
Analytics is denied by default. Nothing is stored and no identifier is set until you press Got it! on the notice at the bottom of the page. If you ignore that notice, or clear the cookie it sets, you are not measured.
Server logs
Our host records standard web server logs — IP address, time, page requested, browser — which are used to keep the site up and to investigate abuse. These are kept briefly and are not combined with anything else.
Things we do not collect
No accounts, no newsletter sign-up, no contact form storing messages, no payment information, and no special category data. We do not ask your age beyond the confirmation on the notice bar, and we do not verify it — that is the bookmaker's job at registration.
Cookies
A cookie is a small file a site stores in your browser. These are the ones involved here.

You can delete cookies at any time in your browser settings, and you can refuse ours simply by not pressing the button. Blocking the cache cookies may make pages load more slowly.
Bookmaker links
Some links to bookmakers are affiliate links, which is disclosed on the pages that carry them. If you open an account through one, we may be paid a commission by that bookmaker. It costs you nothing and it does not affect which horse we tip — selections are made before any commercial consideration.
Clicking such a link takes you to the bookmaker's own site, where their privacy policy applies and not ours. They will typically set their own cookies to record that you arrived from here. We receive reports of how many accounts were opened; we do not receive your name, your account details or what you bet.
Legal basis
Under UK GDPR we rely on:
- Consent for analytics cookies and the measurement they enable. You give it by
pressing the button and can withdraw it by deleting the
hrt_consentcookie in your browser. - Legitimate interests for server logs and security — keeping the site running and defending it from abuse.
Who your data is shared with
Google, as the provider of Analytics, and only once you have consented. Our hosting provider, as an unavoidable part of serving the site. Nobody else. We do not sell data, and we do not share it with bookmakers.
Google may process analytics data outside the UK. Where that happens it is covered by the UK addendum to the EU standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
Analytics data is retained on Google's default schedule and is deleted after that. Server logs are kept for a short operational period by our host. The consent cookie lasts 180 days, after which you will be asked again.
Your rights
You have the right to ask what we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to processing, and to have it provided in a portable form. Because we hold no accounts and no identifying records, in practice there is usually nothing to return — but ask, and we will tell you honestly.

Children
This site is for adults. Nothing here is aimed at under-18s and we do not knowingly collect data from them. Gambling is restricted to those aged 18 and over.
Gambling responsibly
Tips on this site are opinion, not guarantees, and betting involves risk. Never stake more than you can afford to lose. Free, confidential help is available from BeGambleAware and GamCare.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be flagged on the site rather than made quietly.
