Horse Racing Tips for Sunday 14th June 2026

By Dan Stanton

Sunday’s racing comes from Doncaster, where there are a few competitive handicaps mixed in with some races that look tricky to solve on paper. While there aren’t many standout betting opportunities at first glance, there are several horses that look capable of improving on recent efforts or returning to form from attractive handicap marks.

I’ve focused on runners that have either been competing in stronger company than they face today, have shaped much better than the bare form suggests, or return under conditions that could bring out further improvement. Hopefully we’ve found a few winners to round off the weekend in style.

14:00 Doncaster

A really poor race on paper, to be fair. Optician has dropped below his last winning mark and Harry V takes off a valuable 3lb, so he should be competitive.

However, TIGER gets the vote. He’s been running in much better company than this and I really think it was the wrong decision to have him racing so prominently in a stronger race at Goodwood nine days ago. If they hold him up and ride him with a bit more patience in this field today, I think he should take some beating.

QUISANA was just edged out last time in what looked a solid race over 7f. The first two pulled six lengths clear of the third, which gives the form a particularly strong look.

If she can improve again from that effort, she could be very hard to beat today. I’m a big fan of the Eve Johnson Houghton yard with two and three-year-olds, and this race looks more than winnable.

15:00 Doncaster

Another ridiculously difficult race to assess. If he wasn’t giving away so much weight, I’d be all over Kenneth, who is superbly bred by Kingman.

However, he has to concede 20lb to the Ralph Beckett-trained NOCHEBUENA, and that could prove crucial. This filly really improved when stepped up to 1m2f and if she takes another step forward for the extra two furlongs today, she’ll be very hard to beat carrying just 8st 10lb.

16:05 Doncaster

MAGIC BOY’S reappearance was particularly eye-catching after a 211-day break. It looked as though he simply bumped into the improving Glory Hyde, with those two finishing nearly five lengths clear of the third.

The step up to 7f looks likely to suit and he should come on plenty for that first run back. Off the same mark, I think he has a great chance here today. It will be interesting to see if he can dominate from the front and make all.

16:40 Doncaster

BERRY CLEVER has been extremely consistent this season and after winning nicely at Yarmouth off a mark of 70, the subsequent 5lb rise didn’t stop him running another big race.

Although he finished fourth next time out, he was beaten less than a length and didn’t enjoy the smoothest passage. His amateur rider was forced to switch several times and never really got the gaps when needed. Silvestre De Sousa takes over today and with a clear run, he should be there or thereabouts.

17:15 Doncaster

ONEMORENOMORE has won at Doncaster before and has now fallen to a career-low mark of 57.

We always talk about horses for courses and I haven’t really seen him run a bad race at Doncaster. Jason Hart is a notable booking and this is trainer Philip McBride’s only runner on the card despite making a six-hour round trip. At 10/1, he looks a decent each-way play.

17:45 Doncaster

HELL CAT switches from Seb Spencer to Ross Burdon and caught my eye last time out.

She was squeezed leaving the stalls and immediately lost a couple of lengths, leaving her playing catch-up throughout the race. To get a clear run, William Carver was forced to circle the field, giving away even more ground, yet she still stayed on strongly in the closing stages.

At 18/1, around a galloping track like Doncaster where she can fully open up, and with four places on offer, she looks a very interesting each-way proposition.
