RACING POST VERDICT
Crack Ops looks the right choice in this four-runner Southwell staying contest, with our rating of 113 putting him a clear seven pounds ahead of Rock Hurley and Italian Spirit, who share 106. That is a meaningful edge at this level over 20 furlongs on good ground, and it gives him a solid platform if he runs to form. Rock Hurley and Italian Spirit are the obvious dangers on identical figures, while Spot On Soph is only a pound further back on 105 and cannot be dismissed in such a tight group behind our pick. Confidence is low given how compact the rivals are, but Crack Ops is the selection.
