Punxsutawney Phil is our selection at Kelso, and he is only a point behind the top-rated Bold Light on our figures, so the narrow deficit is arguably offset by the fact that he is proven on these conditions over the extended 22 furlongs on good ground. Bold Light is the chief danger, narrowly ahead on rating and entitled to plenty of respect, while Lets Mingle is just two points adrift of our pick and Summergrounds also commands respect in a competitive nine-runner field. This looks a tight contest, but Punxsutawney Phil's proven record under these conditions gives him the edge, and he is the pick.
