Able Astra is our pick at Southwell, and the progressive profile is the reason to side with her over the top-rated Thestral, who is only six pounds better on our figures. At 56 she sits right in the mix in a modest Class 6 contest, and a horse still on the upgrade can close that small gap on the all-weather. Thestral is the obvious danger given his 62, while Sonbelievable (57) and Demetris Mouflon (56) are also firmly in the picture in a competitive 12-runner field.
