RACING POST VERDICT

Badbury Rings is our selection at Newton Abbot, and he looks the right call on the soft ground over this marathon trip. He sits only two pounds behind the top-rated Kick Up A Storm on our figures, but he is fitter and has the more solid book of form, which is enough to tip the balance in his favour. Kick Up A Storm is the chief danger as the narrowly higher-rated runner, with Not A Light just a pound better than our pick, and Mask of Zorro is not far behind them in a tight contest. Badbury Rings gets the nod.
