Sergeant Pep looks the one to side with in this Wolverhampton seven-furlong event, topping our figures on 89 and sitting three pounds clear of his nearest pursuer, which is a useful rather than overwhelming edge. That advantage matters in a competitive nine-runner Class 4 where the gap from top to bottom is only 13 lb, and it gives him the strongest claim on merit. Chalk Mountain is the chief danger on 86, with Alaminos on 83 and Peter The Wolf on 82 also capable of making it tight if Sergeant Pep is not at his best. Even so, Sergeant Pep is the most likely winner and is our selection.
