Red Glory is our selection in a competitive 18-runner contest at Down Royal, and we prefer him to the top-rated pair on three counts: he arrives with a fitness edge, he is proven on this good-to-soft ground, and his book of form looks the more solid. He sits only four pounds behind Lazare de Star and Ben Hur on our figures, which is a gap he can bridge on those merits. Lazare de Star and Ben Hur are the obvious dangers on raw ability, with Lieber Nicc level with Red Glory on rating and also a threat. This is a wide-open contest and our confidence is low, but Red Glory is the one we want on side.
