Horse Racing Tips Sunday
Written by Bryan Rogers
Sunday brings three very different meetings from Nottingham, Thirsk and Fakenham, with plenty of competitive racing on offer. There are several horses dropping to attractive handicap marks, a few progressive types looking capable of taking the next step forward and some runners returning to their ideal conditions. With course form, fitness and race pace likely to play a major role throughout the day, there look to be some excellent betting opportunities across all three cards.
Nottingham Racing Tips
14:20 Nottingham
James Owen’s REGAL CHITA ran in a good race last time out and his newcomer also performed with plenty of promise when finishing third.
With improvement likely to come from that experience, REGAL CHITA can take the opening contest.
14:50 Nottingham
DARETOBEDIFFERENT was given far too much to do last time out but caught the eye staying on strongly to finish a close third.
With a bit more luck in running, DARETOBEDIFFERENT can come late and fast and rates a strong selection.
15:20 Nottingham
Hugo Palmer may have a smart horse on his hands with LUCKY CAMINO.
The horse has only run once and shaped very well when finishing second. With improvement likely and a smoother passage through the race, LUCKY CAMINO gets the verdict.
15:55 Nottingham
One of the toughest races on the card with several runners holding solid claims.
The each-way selection is SUGAR HILL BABE, who has dropped to a more workable mark and ran a respectable race on her latest comeback run. As a previous course-and-distance winner, there should be more improvement to come.
16:25 Nottingham
IN THE POST has now fallen to a mark he really should be winning from.
The latest third has worked out well and the step up in trip could unlock further improvement. IN THE POST gets the win verdict.
16:55 Nottingham
LADY DORA MAE was an impressive winner at Windsor and may just continue progressing.
There are definite question marks surrounding some of the opposition and LADY DORA MAE can take this contest before moving on to better races.
17:25 Nottingham
With the drop in class, LEADENHALL looks a bit of a handicap snip.
If he can break on terms and secure a decent position early, he could be extremely tough to beat. Dropping to a mark of 72 after racing from 10lb higher not long ago, LEADENHALL looks a strong selection to finish the card.
Thirsk Racing Tips
15:45 Thirsk
A two-year-old race to start the card and there is not much form to go on.
PIKACHU is by the brilliant Frankel and with Charlie Johnston’s juveniles running so well, PIKACHU gets the vote.
16:15 Thirsk
There looks to be plenty of pace in this race which should set things up perfectly for the strong-finishing NOBLE VOW.
Going for the hat-trick and arriving in cracking form, NOBLE VOW is a strong selection if getting the breaks at the right time.
16:45 Thirsk
Probably the toughest race on the card with plenty of runners holding realistic chances.
Course winner AMERICAN BAY loves it around Thirsk and has dropped to an attractive mark. He makes plenty of each-way appeal.
17:15 Thirsk
As open as the previous race looks, I feel GREAT BEDWYN and LETSBEFRANK are well clear of the remainder on form.
The vote goes to GREAT BEDWYN, whose latest second was extremely eye-catching and he can go one better here.
17:45 Thirsk
ETERNAL SUNSHINE hasn’t shown much for a little while but loves racing at this time of year and is now on a very workable mark.
This looks a wide-open race, but ETERNAL SUNSHINE makes plenty of each-way appeal.
18:15 Thirsk
The latest second from ANNIVERSARY was a very encouraging effort and he looks like he is crying out for a step up to two miles.
With Rossa Ryan taking the ride, ANNIVERSARY looks a winner waiting to happen from his current mark.
18:45 Thirsk
BINTAZIZA has won both races on the all-weather and may be worth taking on.
THALUNA looks a very smart horse in the making and the latest second has worked out exceptionally well. Off a mark of 83, THALUNA still looks ahead of the handicapper and can take the closing contest.
Fakenham Racing Tips
14:35 Fakenham
TUBA may be worth taking on here and the vote goes to POPA RICH.
Now nicely handicapped and running from a much more attractive mark, POPA RICH can take the opening race.
15:05 Fakenham
The best form in the race belongs to the former Irish-trained DANCING DAME, who is now with James Owen.
DANCING DAME looks a strong win bet and should take plenty of beating.
15:35 Fakenham
Last year’s winner GETAWAY JEWEL has slipped down the weights and returns to a track where course form is extremely important.
In this four-runner contest, GETAWAY JEWEL can make his experience count.
16:07 Fakenham
Fit from the Flat and still potentially improving, AN BRADAN FEASA looks the one to beat.
There are question marks surrounding the other three runners and AN BRADAN FEASA can continue his progression.
16:37 Fakenham
HURRICANE BAY looks the best chance on the entire card and is the NAP.
Once rated 130, he dropped to a mark of 117 before winning impressively last time out. Despite a 5lb rise, he remains well below his old rating and looks a very strong selection.
NAP: HURRICANE BAY
17:07 Fakenham
James Owen appears to have a real improver on his hands in MARKET HOUSE.
He looks like a horse that enjoys winning and despite likely starting favourite, MARKET HOUSE is another strong selection who can continue progressing from a mark of 98.
