Crest Of Fire is our selection and the top-rated runner here, with a win three starts back and nothing worse than third in four of his last five runs underlining strong form, plus both today’s trip and good to firm ground already proven. Shaman Champion carries the second-highest figure in the race and remains dangerous despite being without a win in that stretch, while Mr Seagull and Arbaawy also loom as threats on our numbers. At high confidence, Crest Of Fire’s rounder profile makes him the one to beat in a well-strung-out field.
Crest Of Fire can certainly leave his Royal Ascot effort behind after being handed a very difficult draw, but the preference is for Ciarrai Abu. He has produced some strong pieces of form already this season and was desperately unlucky not to win last time out. With a little more luck in running, he looks capable of gaining a deserved success.
