Pickering Castle is our selection here, and his progressive profile earns him the nod over the top-rated Virtue Patience, who is only six pounds better on our figures in a Class 6 field of 13. At 61 he sits just a couple of pounds off Portman Blue and Ararat, so he needs little improvement to get involved over this 7f at Kempton, and an upward trajectory counts for plenty in a race of this standard. Virtue Patience is the chief danger on his rating, with Portman Blue and Ararat also capable of making the frame if Pickering Castle fails to progress again. Pickering Castle can get the better of them.
