Showtime Mahomes is our selection at Redcar, and the case rests on a progressive profile and a fitness edge that can count for plenty in a competitive Class 6 sprint on soft ground. He is rated 67, level with Delagate This Lord, and only five pounds behind Beauty Choice, so the gap to the top-rated runner is narrow enough for his improvement to close. Beauty Choice is the main danger on figures, with Delagate This Lord and Wise Crack also likely to be in the mix, and with a 14-runner field this is a wide-open contest. Showtime Mahomes gets the nod, though only with limited confidence.
