Horse Racing Tips for Tuesday 2nd June 2026

Another busy day of racing and we’ve got some interesting cards at both Pontefract and Southwell. There are a few well-handicapped horses catching the eye, some promising youngsters, and a couple that look capable of going in again after recent impressive performances. Here’s how I see today’s action.

14:48 Pontefract

Alma Latina was very green on debut but finished the race strongly and stayed on well to finish second. With that experience under her belt, she can improve significantly and go one better in this small field.

15:18 Pontefract

Boleto has Wootton Bassett in the pedigree and could turn out to be a very smart performer. This looks a warm two-year-old race, but Clive Cox does very well with his newcomers and Boleto gets the verdict.

VIP ELITE NAP

16:18 Pontefract

This is the time of year when Rogue Temptation tends to run well. Having dropped down the weights, he looks an attractive each-way selection and can outrun his odds.

16:48 Pontefract

After returning to a track that suits him better following a run at a course that didn’t play to his strengths, Finlaggan can win this. He looks potentially very well handicapped off just 69 and, with plenty of pace likely in the race, should get the run of things.

17:18 Pontefract

Ice Cold Alex is a course-and-distance winner and could be ready to strike again in what looks a very open contest. He makes plenty of each-way appeal in the 5f finale.

14:30 Southwell

Vocito looked a big improver over hurdles last time and now gets to run off the same mark over fences. If he can dominate from the front as he did on his latest start, he’ll be extremely tough to beat.

15:00 Southwell

Mr Mahler has fallen to a tempting mark and looks due a win soon. However, the value lies with Crackerjack Queen, who was travelling strongly when falling last time out and may well have won. She is worth another chance here.

15:30 Southwell

In this National Hunt Flat race, Olly Murphy’s For Her Glory gets the vote. She was very impressive when winning a similar contest last time and looks capable of progressing further.

16:00 Southwell

The step up in trip looks sure to suit Kingofthefrontier. He stayed on strongly last time and today’s move up to 2m4f could unlock further improvement. John Dawson’s runner can take this competitive-looking maiden.

16:30 Southwell

With different ground conditions possible today, Jafimgoso may be worth taking on. The each-way selection is Jefe Triunfo, who hasn’t shown much recently but has dropped considerably in the weights. A big run could be just around the corner and this doesn’t look the strongest race.

17:00 Southwell

Captain Cool arrives in excellent form after winning back-to-back chases and reaching a rating of 114. Running off 109 over hurdles makes him look exceptionally well treated and he gets the win verdict.

17:30 Southwell

Beorma looked to have plenty in hand when winning last time and competes here off the same hurdles mark. If turning up in the same form, Harry Skelton’s runner should prove very difficult to beat and can follow up.
