Horse Racing Tips for Wednesday 3rd June 2026
A busy Wednesday afternoon with action from both Newton Abbot and Nottingham, and there look to be some solid opportunities across the two cards. Newton Abbot hosts a competitive jumps meeting with a few horses arriving in good form, while Nottingham’s Flat card features several interesting juveniles alongside some well-handicapped older performers. As always, I’ve gone through every race and picked out the horses I feel have the strongest claims based on recent form, conditions, handicapping, and stable form. Hopefully we can find a few winners and get the month off to a flying start.
Newton Abbot
14:30 Newton Abbot
With the Mickey Bowen stable continuing to fire in the winners, Yellow Card looks the one to beat in the opener. He ran an excellent race when finishing second last time out behind a horse that could turn out to be well above average. A repeat of that effort should see him go very close here.
15:00 Newton Abbot
A fascinating three-runner contest where the weights could prove decisive. Doc McCoy receives a valuable 10lb from the favourite Dunkerque and that advantage may be enough to swing things in his favour. In such a small field, every pound counts and Doc McCoy gets the vote.
15:30 Newton Abbot
Kenzo Des Bruyeres had very little go his way last time out and looked as though the run was used as an educational outing over fences. That experience should stand him in good stead today and his previous form makes him a strong contender. Black Occ rates the main danger, but Kenzo Des Bruyeres gets the nod.
16:00 Newton Abbot
Jena Doudairies was strongly fancied on the website last time and duly delivered in good style. The mare now bids for a hat-trick and this doesn’t look the deepest race she has contested. With confidence high and conditions suitable, she can make it three wins from her last three starts.
16:30 Newton Abbot
Only five runners go to post for this contest and it’s a tricky race to assess. However, the Tom Lacey stable has hit form at the right time and top-weight Howth looks capable of making his class tell. Course-winning form is always a positive around here and further improvement could be forthcoming.
17:00 Newton Abbot
The biggest field of the day and one of the more competitive races on the card. Westerton could still be ahead of the handicapper and looks capable of defying his current mark. He is one of the stronger selections on the card and earns Free Nap status. Marhaba The Champ is respected and rates the main danger.
17:30 Newton Abbot
The concluding bumper could go the way of Marhaba The Champ. An expensive purchase with a smart pedigree, he has the profile of a horse capable of developing into a useful performer. If handling race conditions first time out, he should prove difficult to beat.
Nottingham
14:48 Nottingham
A two-year-old maiden opens proceedings and Menhaal is taken to go one better than on debut. He was sent off a warm favourite on that occasion but ran very green throughout before finishing strongly. With that experience behind him, significant improvement is expected.
15:18 Nottingham
This looks a very strong juvenile contest with several expensive and well-bred youngsters making plenty of appeal. There should be numerous future winners emerging from the race, but Terminology catches the eye at the prices and is taken to upset the more fancied runners in the market.
15:48 Nottingham
Ed Walker’s Laughterintherain has been competing against stronger opposition than this and now finds himself on a workable mark of 67. His first handicap run suggested there is more to come and he was never given a particularly hard race. This looks an excellent opportunity to get his head in front.
16:18 Nottingham
Kasgani was desperately unlucky over this course and distance last time out and is worth another chance. The former Irish-trained runner shaped much better than the bare result suggests and still looks capable of winning a race of this nature.
16:48 Nottingham
Mudita arrives here on the back of an impressive success where he finished the race strongly and looked a horse on the upgrade. This is a competitive race, but the step up to 1m2f appears to have unlocked further improvement and he can continue his progression.
17:18 Nottingham
Ishe Worth Agamble is very much a horse who comes alive during the summer months and conditions look ideal once again. Having slipped to an attractive handicap mark after a gradual decline in the weights, he looks primed to take advantage and can end the Nottingham card on a winning note.
