WARWICK HORSE RACING TIPS, WEDNESDAY
Warwick hosts an interesting jumps card on Wednesday with a nice mix of maiden hurdles, handicap chases and novice contests throughout the afternoon. There are several horses arriving here in solid recent form, while a few runners look potentially very well handicapped if returning to their best.
As always around Warwick, jumping and race position can play a huge part and there are a couple of front runners on the card that could prove difficult to peg back if getting into a rhythm early.
Tips and write-ups by Bryan Rogers.
14:30 Warwick – HAZELTON MOUNTFORD INSURANCE BROKERS MAIDEN HURDLE (4)
Jamie Snowden’s REBEL TRIBESMAN has finished second twice at Sedgefield on his last two outings, but this looks a very good opportunity for him to finally get his head in front.
The form of his bumper win at Aintree has some strong angles to it and overall his profile suggests he should be winning a race of this nature very soon. REBEL TRIBESMAN sets the standard here and looks the one to beat.
15:00 Warwick – LOGICOR GRAND NEIGH-SIONAL HANDICAP CHASE (5)
The change of tactics last time out for TOM DESJY really seemed to work and front running tactics showed just how well handicapped he potentially is.
I’m sure the team will look to get him out in front again and if allowed an easy lead he could prove extremely difficult to pass around here. A strong win bet is advised.
15:30 Warwick – MANE EVENT: LOGICOR CUP HANDICAP CHASE (4)
With JACK DOYEN a possible non runner after winning yesterday, that could open the door even more for FULL FORCE GALE to follow up his previous course and distance success.
There are plenty of strong form angles in the book and although he has gone up 5lb for that latest win, it still may not be enough to stop him going in again.
16:00 Warwick – LOGIC DEFYING HANDICAP HURDLE (4)
A very open looking race for the fourth on the card, but NORMAN FLETCHER catches the eye dropping into a much easier grade.
He now races off a mark of 114 having once been rated 129 and if he can rediscover some of that old ability then he looks capable of winning a race like this at a very decent price.
16:30 Warwick – COR BLIMEY GALLOP NOVICES’ LIMITED HANDICAP HURDLE (5)
ALIBABA was strongly backed last time out and justified the support when winning off a mark of 74.
He is now up 9lb and races from a mark of 83, but Adrian Keatley is a very capable trainer and this could still be a horse that remains well ahead of the handicapper. With improvement clearly still possible, ALIBABA gets the verdict.
FFOS LAS HORSE RACING TIPS
Ffos Las hosts an interesting jumps card with a mixture of novice hurdles, handicap chases and mares’ contests throughout the afternoon. There are several runners arriving here with solid recent form, while a few others look potentially very well treated if rediscovering their best.
As always around Ffos Las, stamina and jumping tend to play a huge part, especially if conditions become testing, and there are a couple of horses on the card that could prove very difficult to beat if getting into a smooth rhythm early.

14:50 Ffos Las – MORTAL BUNNY RUM CONDITIONAL JOCKEYS’ HANDICAP HURDLE (5)
RED RUBIO runs here off a mark of 104 and after his first run in handicap company, which already has some nice form to it, this winning pointer looks to have a huge chance now stepping up in trip to 2m4f.
There are question marks surrounding plenty of the opposition and with improvement likely over this longer distance, RED RUBIO gets a strong verdict here.
15:20 Ffos Las – HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY DONNACHA FENELON NOVICES’ HURDLE (4)
A small field for race two and at first glance only three runners look capable of winning this. You can probably pick holes in both KNIGHTS and FISKARDO’S form, so the vote goes to THE FLAGGY SHORE.
He has winning pointing form and was very eye catching last time out in a Listed Class 1 bumper. If building on that effort, he should prove strong enough to take this race.
15:50 Ffos Las – HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY IDRIS NOVICES’ LIMITED HANDICAP HURDLE (5)
HARD STARE was well beaten on his first run in handicap company last time out, but he may still be better than his current mark of 86 and could easily prove to be the danger in this race.
However, with question marks surrounding most of the field and not wanting to fully trust HARD STARE, the vote goes to POETS MUSE for a stable I like a lot.
This winning pointer now runs off a mark of 87 after a very good second last time out behind a back to form Paul Nicholls horse and that looks by far the strongest piece of form in the race.
Paddy Hanlon takes a further 5lb off which means POETS MUSE effectively races here off 83 and that makes him a very strong selection.
Just a small field for race four, but HELL HOUND looks a seriously improving horse. The way he won last time out off a mark of 102 at Southwell strongly suggests he will continue climbing the handicap for some time yet.
A very strong selection here and I fully expect HELL HOUND to win well again. He still races off only 108 today and in my book could easily still be around 12lb well in.
16:50 Ffos Las – ADEPT GRP CABINETS MARES’ HANDICAP CHASE (Qualifier) (5)
A poor race on paper, but with so many runners dropping rapidly in the weights, a shock result could be on the cards.
BRIDGET MARY deserves to head the market, but the chance is taken on SHESUPINCOURT returning to winning ways. She has dropped 18lb in the handicap since February 2025 and now races off a mark of just 70.
The booking of Brendan Powell catches the eye and this could be the day she finally gets back into the winner’s enclosure.
17:22 Ffos Las – ADEPT GRP CABINETS MARES’ NOVICES’ LIMITED HANDICAP HURDLE (5)
FOREST SPIRIT is the early favourite, but her jumping last time out was far from convincing and until she puts in a cleaner round of jumping she looks worth taking on.
Several others in the field are entering handicap company for the first time and should improve for recent outings. The Max Comley yard is definitely one to keep an eye on as he looks a very good up and coming trainer.
His runner LA BELLE ARGENTEE may be ready to bounce back here. Her mark has dropped 10lb in recent runs and she has previously shown some useful form against horses rated in the 120s. She gets the vote in the lucky last.
AYR HORSE RACING TIPS
Ayr hosts an interesting card with a mixture of maidens, handicaps and a few lightly raced horses that could still be well ahead of their current marks. As always around Ayr, pace and track position can play a huge role and there are several runners returning to conditions that should suit perfectly.
There are also a couple of horses on the card stepping into races where they look capable of taking a fair bit of beating if reproducing their best form.
Tips and write-ups by Dan Stanton.
13:42 Ayr – ABSOLUT TABASCO MAIDEN STAKES (4)
Not the best opener is it, a three runner race with a 1/4 favourite. I wish I could give you a magical selection, but unfortunately RULER’S PRIDE for the Burke and Lee combo stands out massively.
The horse was resold for 550k and ultimately if this gets beat then the owners should be royally pee’d off.
14:12 Ayr – KRONENBOURG 1664 HANDICAP (6)
The fact CLASSY CLARETS’ handicap mark hasn’t changed since his win at Hamilton five days ago, combined with the fact Mohammed Lyes Tabti gets to claim 5lb in this race, means he is essentially 5lb well in.
He ran a nice race over 5f last time out and the step back up to 6f is not an issue considering he has won over the trip before on the All Weather.
You would expect another big run here and it looks like a very good piece of race placement from Iain Jardine.
14:42 Ayr -SCHWEPPES CHERRY PEPPER HANDICAP (4)
PEARL EYE seemed a new horse when switching yards from Gay Kelleway to Jim Goldie, and his first run for the yard was eye catching indeed. He broke well but dropped back and seemed to really pick up in the final furlong, finishing better than anything that day. It looked like he was potentially given just a bit too much to do or maybe needed slightly further.
Now he gets another furlong today which I think is ideal and with Lauren Young keeping the ride and running off the same mark, I’d be very surprised if this doesn’t run a big race.
15:12 Ayr – ALTOS TEQUILA HANDICAP (5)
They seem to be dropping like flies here at Ayr with plenty of non-runners on the card. I’m not a huge fan of the favourite THUNDERSTORM KATIE, I backed her a few times last year but she can be a bit temperamental, so I’m going to side with MILITARY GIRL here.
The comeback run after 175 days off was eye catching enough and you would think she will come on plenty for that effort. She’s now 4lb below her last winning mark and if fitter for that return, she should go very close here.
15:42 Ayr – TENNENT’S LAGER HANDICAP (4)
Roger Varian looks to have a very nice horse here in RETURN TO UNIT, who cost nearly a million pounds to buy and towards the end of last season showed exactly what he could do.
Even though he was weak in the betting that day, which may suggest they didn’t fully fancy him, he stayed on really nicely to get the job done. If he has filled out and strengthened up over the winter then there may only be one winner of this race.
At bigger odds, Tim Easterby’s GARDEN OASIS looks an interesting each way angle. He has previously won over course and distance off a mark of 78 and now races 3lb lower than that.
If they have targeted this race with him, then at around 20/1 he could easily sneak into the places.
16:12 Ayr – BIRRA PORETTI HANDICAP (5) (D.I)
Unfortunately another favourite here and another runner from the King of Ayr, Jim Goldie.
KELPIE GREY has previously won around here off a mark of 78 and has now tumbled down the handicap to 69. Paul Mulrennan keeps the ride and it looked very much like his comeback run last time out after 158 days off was a proper pipe opener.
He should come on plenty for that effort and when the money is down on a Jim Goldie runner at Ayr, they are always very hard to oppose.
16:42 Ayr – BIRRA PORETTI HANDICAP (5) (D.II)
I think you can draw a line through QAZAQ’S last run at Musselburgh. It was an awful ride and he was being switched all over the place throughout the race.
The interesting piece of form was his penultimate run at the same track. He was travelling like a good thing on the rail and it took a while for him to get out, but when he finally saw daylight he flew home and was only beaten by a nostril.
He is only 1lb higher today and the 5/1 on offer makes for a very nice looking win bet.
17:15 Ayr – OASIS SUMMER FRUITS APPRENTICE HANDICAP (6)
The favourite here, THE WOLF OF BADENOCH, looks short enough at 5/4 so I’ll be looking to oppose him for sure.
I’m siding with GLORIOUS KITTY here. Apprentice jockey Lewis Chalkley got a really nice spin out of her two runs ago at Beverley and she looks the type of horse that is ultra consistent.
She has finished runner up on three of her last five starts and a race like this today could see her go very close indeed at around 5/1.
