Its a wide-open race, but Lingfield is a tricky track where course experience and race positioning count for plenty. Southbank has been a little unlucky here on a few occasions and now gets the services of Rossa Ryan, one of the best riders around the track.
Southbank has been knocking on the door and looks capable of winning a race of this nature. He takes a while to hit top gear, but with very little obvious pace in the contest, I can\’t see anything getting too far ahead of him. Given his liking for the track and the jockey booking, 7/2 looks a fair price for a horse with a strong chance of going very close.
