War Correspondent is clear at the top of our figures on 124, nine pounds better than anything else in this field, and is a confident selection. Romany Brown (115) and Bright Legend (114) are the most obvious dangers on paper, with Drombeg Lad (111) also capable of running into the shake-up. Emerald Time, King Sacre and Diesel Line make up the rest of a compact field but are rated some way behind the leading trio. Given the size of the rating advantage held by War Correspondent, confidence in this selection is high.
Drombeg Lad was seriously impressive when winning last time out, but may be a little underpriced in this race. I have a feeling Diesel Line will come good soon, but I’m going with Emerald Time here.
The horse needs things to fall right, but there looks to be enough pace in the race, and I have a feeling this could be his to win late on.
