Supreme Lord holds a narrow edge over the field on ratings, sitting just a pound ahead of Someday Somewhere and two clear of Howlin Wolf, so the margin for error is slim and any one of that trio could realistically take this six-furlong contest at Navan on good-to-firm ground. Someday Somewhere and Howlin Wolf in particular look the chief threats and will need watching throughout, while Prince Of Peppard also enters calculations as the fourth-highest-rated runner in the field. The selection may need to produce a performance close to its best to hold off these rivals, but on the figures available Supreme Lord is the one to be on.
HOWLIN WOLF looks the solid option to start Navan. He is proven on the ground and proven over the trip, which is worth plenty in a nursery like this. There is nothing massively clever about it, but he ticks the most boxes and gets the vote at 9/4.
