Qitaal was beaten only a head last time, running to form off the exact mark he carries here — in good shape and our ratings put him clearly at the head of affairs. Helmsley found form when runner-up at a sharp track recently off a 1lb lower mark, handling a longer trip well, and the return to a more suitable distance today enhances the chance; the main danger. Mao Shang Wong won at this course and distance on the penultimate start and drops back to a far weaker level, so cannot be dismissed. Qitaal is our selection.
QITAAL was dropped in grade last time out and ran an absolute cracker. He was unlucky not to win, with the gaps appearing at the wrong moments. He races off the same mark of 75 here and the race doesn\'t look particularly strong. I fully expect the Charlie Johnston-trained seven-year-old to put up another big performance.
