Demetris Mouflon heads this nine-runner Class 6 sprint at Ffos Las on ratings, sitting narrowly ahead of Diamondsinthesand and a couple of pounds clear of Outer Edge, and on good ground over six furlongs the conditions look straightforward enough for him to make that advantage count. Diamondsinthesand and Outer Edge are the most likely threats, with Sundiata Keita also worth keeping onside in what is an open and competitive enough heat at this level. Confidence is only moderate given how tightly grouped the principals are, but the edge in the ratings points one way. Demetris Mouflon is the selection.
DIAMONDSINTHESAND is exactly the sort of older horse I like looking for in these races. He is now 5lb below the mark of 51 he won from last September, he has won at Ffos Las three times and he was staying on again last time.
Taryn Langley takes another 5lb off and there is only one obvious front-runner in the race, so there is a chance this becomes tactical. At 12/1 there is more than enough there for me.
VERDICT: DIAMONDSINTHESAND 12/1
