Roger Varian looks to have a very nice horse here in RETURN TO UNIT, who cost nearly a million pounds to buy and towards the end of last season showed exactly what he could do.
Even though he was weak in the betting that day, which may suggest they didn’t fully fancy him, he stayed on really nicely to get the job done. If he has filled out and strengthened up over the winter then there may only be one winner of this race.
At bigger odds, Tim Easterby’s GARDEN OASIS looks an interesting each way angle. He has previously won over course and distance off a mark of 78 and now races 3lb lower than that.
If they have targeted this race with him, then at around 20/1 he could easily sneak into the places.
The biggest field of the day and one of the more competitive races on the card. Westerton could still be ahead of the handicapper and looks capable of defying his current mark. He is one of the stronger selections on the card and earns Free Nap status. Marhaba The Champ is respected and rates the main danger.
