HARD STARE was well beaten on his first run in handicap company last time out, but he may still be better than his current mark of 86 and could easily prove to be the danger in this race.
However, with question marks surrounding most of the field and not wanting to fully trust HARD STARE, the vote goes to POETS MUSE for a stable I like a lot.
This winning pointer now runs off a mark of 87 after a very good second last time out behind a back to form Paul Nicholls horse and that looks by far the strongest piece of form in the race.
Paddy Hanlon takes a further 5lb off which means POETS MUSE effectively races here off 83 and that makes him a very strong selection.
The biggest field of the day and one of the more competitive races on the card. Westerton could still be ahead of the handicapper and looks capable of defying his current mark. He is one of the stronger selections on the card and earns Free Nap status. Marhaba The Champ is respected and rates the main danger.
