RACING POST VERDICT

Slack Alice arrives in good form after landing a race at Market Rasen last time and the 7lb penalty may prove insufficient to restrain her, as she looks a progressive staying type; yet Back To Cali, joining a strong yard from Ireland, could well prove himself capable of better than his current mark suggests, while Alex The Great might yet prove the pick of the field as the extra distance comes into play. Back To Cali is our selection.

Our Expert Tip

Slack Alice did it nicely last time out and looks to be well ahead of the handicapper at present. This doesn\'t look a particularly strong race and I feel Dan Skelton\'s runner is the only real danger. If Slack Alice reproduces that latest performance, she\'ll take plenty of beating.

Rain cap will be all the rage in the betting, but again when isn\'t it. was 2/1 beaten fav last time out and essentially is 4lb worse off here, Im going to take an eachway gamble on BULLINGTON BRY switch stables last time out and well supported in the market, the 1st time blinkers were slapped on and seemed to do an ok job, I would prefer this horse to potentially get a bit more cover, he will stay 7F/1m and has the speed to tuck in if needed. the race is not great and if Jessica Macey can squeeze a bit more out of this horse on his 2nd run he could go close, of a career low marl and 4 places on offer at 15/2 happy to have an eachway play on this.
