Newport landed a handicap at Hexham convincingly last time and arrives with good yard form behind him, stepping back in class to a mark that still looks live; first-time blinkers add a further dimension. Katzoff makes his British debut for a trainer in fine form and his Irish figures point to a generous mark, while Brooklyn Lullaby is still unexposed and Western Soldier holds a reasonable claim. Newport is the selection, though the depth of the field keeps confidence modest.
This isn\'t the strongest handicap you\'ll see, but Brooklyn Lullaby catches the eye. The horse has clearly been brought along with handicaps in mind and now begins life from a mark of just 72. There looks to be more improvement to come and he rates a solid each-way selection.
