Kings Merchant sets the standard on our figures in this wide-open Chester Class 5 over seven furlongs, but Giant gets the vote as our selection on a progressive profile that the clock backs up strongly. The case is more about upside than outright figures, so this comes with a low level of selection confidence. Kings Merchant, Triggerman and Pearly Squirrel are the most obvious dangers on the bare figures and would all have claims if Giant's slight rating deficit tells. Giant remains the pick, with the form still pointing in the right direction.
