Aslukgoes is a clear-cut selection at Worcester, sitting well clear of this seven-strong field on our figures. Captain Boudet, White Riot and Mix Of Clover all pack a leading claim of their own and ensure this is no formality, but the gap between them and the selection is wide enough to inspire real confidence. Manowest, Evening Tess and Boskill Borden look to be fighting for the minor honours behind that leading trio.
FREE NAP - This is one of my strongest selections on the entire card. I’m very sweet on the Mickey Bowen-trained Aslukgoes and think he’s the horse they all have to beat.
The favourite is likely to be the Dan Skelton runner, but I’m not completely convinced by the strength of that horse’s form. For me, Aslukgoes has achieved the best form in the race. Last time at Cartmel he fell, but I was convinced he was about to beat one of Sam England’s seriously in-form horses before coming down.
He’s now racing from a mark of just 99, which I believe significantly underestimates his ability. I think he’s well ahead of the handicapper at this stage and can make that count.
