RACING POST VERDICT

Shahik is the clear form pick in this Class 5 contest over today's trip, rated 79 and a comfortable margin clear of the field on our figures. Thornaby Annie, The Sweet Escape and Solar Cooper make up the chasing pack and represent the biggest dangers, all within a workable range on our ratings. That clear advantage in the figures makes Shahik our selection, albeit at medium confidence given how tightly grouped the rest of this field is.

Our Expert Tip

THE SWEET ESCAPE rates as a serious win selection in the final race on the card, although the horse is likely to be a warm favourite. The Sweet Escape has only gone up 3lb for the latest victory and it would be a surprise if the horse were beaten in this contest.

Rain cap will be all the rage in the betting, but again when isn\'t it. was 2/1 beaten fav last time out and essentially is 4lb worse off here, Im going to take an eachway gamble on BULLINGTON BRY switch stables last time out and well supported in the market, the 1st time blinkers were slapped on and seemed to do an ok job, I would prefer this horse to potentially get a bit more cover, he will stay 7F/1m and has the speed to tuck in if needed. the race is not great and if Jessica Macey can squeeze a bit more out of this horse on his 2nd run he could go close, of a career low marl and 4 places on offer at 15/2 happy to have an eachway play on this.
