Stratagem is the one to beat in this four-runner Class 4 over the marathon 26f trip at Cartmel, his rating of 112 giving him a narrow edge at the head of the field. Le Malin, only a pound behind on 111, is the obvious danger and cannot be dismissed on these figures. Sean Og and Slaney Opera make up the numbers, both a good way adrift on 101 and 95 respectively. Stratagem, narrowly the best of these on rating, is the selection with real confidence.
