Cheltenham
SUNNY SOUTH WEST at 4/1, Edward F Power with Michael Kenneally taking off 3lb, is the one I want to be with. He won last time out.
He absolutely bolted up over two miles plus on the flat last time out, and at Galway he finished ahead of Willie Mullins' Daddy Long Legs, who has since destroyed a field by seven lengths on his chase debut. If he takes to his hurdles, he has more than enough ability to go very close.
The dangers are EAST INDIA EXPRESS at 6/1 (a course winner) and NORMAN FLETCHER at 17/2 (went close off this mark).
ICE JET at 4/1, Dan Skelton and Harry Skelton, is the one I want to be with. He won by 18L (~18lb), raised 15lb — 3lb in hand and comes from a yard in good heart at 27%.
I was really impressed with the way he went off in front and attacked his fences last time. He is a bold jumper who gets into a rhythm when he is allowed to get on with things, and if Harry Skelton can get the fractions right he could be difficult to catch.
The dangers are GLEN TO GLEN at 25/1 (went close off this mark) and BOWENSONFIRE at 11/10.
3 of these want to be on the pace, which usually means they go too quick and it falls to something coming from behind.
WONDERING WHY at 5/1, Ben Pauling with Elliott England taking off 8lb, is the one I want to be with. He won by 5L (~5lb), raised 2lb — 3lb in hand, should be suited by the ground and gets a trip he has won over.
The second and third from his handicap debut win have both come out and won since, and Elliott England's 8lb claim puts him in off an effective mark of 111, which is 4lb below the mark he won off last time.
The one worry is off the track a while.
The dangers are KAPITEIN KOOL at 6/1 (on a falling mark) and LORIKO at 9/1 (from a yard in form).
3 of these want to be on the pace, which usually means they go too quick and it falls to something coming from behind.
COOLTOBECARELESS at 7/4, Dan Skelton and Harry Skelton, is the one I want to be with. He won last time out and comes from a yard in good heart at 27%.
He demolished the field by thirteen lengths on his reappearance with plenty left in the tank and was never fully pushed out. He is straightforward, he jumps well, and he should come on again for that run.
The main danger is ETERNAL ANGEL at 14/1 (well handicapped).
5 of these want to be on the pace, which usually means they go too quick and it falls to something coming from behind.
SANS BRUIT at 9/1, Paul Nicholls and Harry Cobden, is the one I want to be with. He races off a mark 9lb below the 139 it won from back in April 2025 and makes his first start since a wind operation.
This is a race-shape selection. There is not a great deal of obvious early pace here, and if Harry Cobden can get him out in front and control the fractions he could be very difficult to pass.
The one worry is weakened last time and long absence.
The dangers are TRAPRAIN LAW at 4/1 (went close off this mark) and IN THE AIR at 28/1 (went close off this mark).
MR HOLLYWOOD at 10/11, W. P. Mullins and Mr P W Mullins, is the one I want to be with. He has a telling booking — upgrade from a 16% rider to 30%.
He was beaten just two lengths by Illinois at Ascot, which is a serious level of flat ability to be bringing into this, and a recent run in France means fitness is not a question.
DATSTHEHOLYALLOFIT rates higher on our figures but is passed over — won its last two off 99 and runs off 113 — up 14lb.
The main danger is KINGSTONIAN at 5/2 (staying on last time).
FAIRLAWN SKIPPER at 4/1, Mickey Bowen and Mr Derek O'Connor, is the one I want to be with. He won last time out and has a telling booking — upgrade from a 5% rider to 13%.
He knuckled down when the pressure came last time and actually pulled away from the opposition towards the finish. The form has been franked by Limerick Leader winning since, and the step up in trip should bring out more.
The dangers are SNIPE at 18/1 (went close off this mark) and MY GIFT TO YOU at 25/1.
Doncaster
MIND THOSE STEPS at 9/2, Tim Easterby and David Allan, is the one I make it. He gets a trip he has won over.
The one worry is wrong side of the draw.
BULLETSNAP rates higher on our figures but is passed over — won last time off 78 and runs off 87 — up 9lb.
FINE INTERVIEW at 4/1, Hamad Al Jehani and James Doyle, is the one that stands out. He has won here 3 times, should be suited by the ground and gets a trip he has won over.
The risk is GOLDMOYNE, the only confirmed front-runner here — front-runners at this track win 2.3 times their share of these races, and an uncontested lead could be decisive.
The dangers are GOLDEN MIND at 12/1 (a course winner) and CITY CAPTAIN at 12/1 (went close off this mark).
Non-runners: Aramram.
REDEMPTION ROAD at 25/1, Michael Keady and Saffie Osborne, is the one I would side with. He should be suited by the ground, placed once from 2 on it and gets a trip he has won over.
The one worry is yard out of form.
EGOLI rates higher on our figures but is passed over on the ground — never run on soft or heavy in 11 starts — and today is heavy.
The dangers are INVICTUS GOLD at 11/2 (won with plenty in hand) and U SURE DO at 14/1.
A tricky one to unpick — most of these have barely been seen, so the stable and the booking matter more than the figures.
DESERT ROMANCE gets the vote at 11/8 for Charlie Appleby, ridden by William Buick. Charlie Appleby is running at 35% over the past fortnight, and William Buick is a 22% rider.
The dangers are FORTIS FORTUNA at 4/1 and SNOW CARNIVAL at 5/1.
A hard race to weigh up with most of these unexposed, so the yard and the booking count for more than the form book.
ZAJAL gets the vote at 6/1 for Charlie Appleby, ridden by Ryan Moore. Charlie Appleby is running at 35% over the past fortnight.
The dangers are ENTRUST at 5/4 and AGE OF REASON at 5/2.
ABERAMA GOLD at 14/1, David O'Meara and Mark Winn, is the one I would side with. He has already won round this track twice, handles the ground, with 3 wins from 6 on it and gets a trip he has won over.
The risk is RIKKI TIKI TAVI, the only confirmed front-runner here — front-runners at this track win 2.3 times their share of these races, and an uncontested lead could be decisive.
The dangers are CHARLIE MASON at 9/1 (a course winner) and WOVEN at 12/1 (a course winner).
ANGEL GABRIEL at 7/2, Ralph Beckett and Rossa Ryan, looks the one to be on. He drops in grade after running 3rd in a Class 3, beaten 1.5L, drops to Class 4, should be suited by the ground, placed twice from 2 on it and gets a trip he has won over.
The one worry is wrong side of the draw.
The dangers are LIPSINK at 8/1 (won last time) and ALMARADA PRINCE at 4/1 (went close off this mark).
KOKANEE at 7/1, Ed Dunlop and Rossa Ryan, just about gets the nod. He drops in grade after running 3rd in a Class 4, beaten 3.5L, drops to Class 5 and was staying on at the finish last time.
The dangers are GEO at 17/2 (went close off this mark) and COTSWOLD COTTAGE at 50/1 (went close off this mark).
Dundalk
ELEANOR SHELBY at 3/1, Joseph Patrick O'Brien and Dylan Browne McMonagle, is the one I would side with. He won last time out and has won here.
The dangers are FRIENDLY INVOICE at 28/1 (a course winner) and PURELY at 11/2 (went close off this mark).
FAOLADH is the only confirmed front-runner — and this is a track where that matters: front-runners here win 2.8 times their share of these races. An uncontested lead could be decisive.
FAOLADH at 7/1, A. Slattery with Adam Browne-Souza taking off 7lb, is the one I make it. He races off a mark 3lb below the 68 it won from in August and is back quickly, ran 5 days ago.
The one worry is unproven on the ground.
The dangers are BATTLE BORNE at 28/1 (a course winner) and BOSTON BENJAMIN at 6/1 (a course winner).
INISHMOT PRINCE at 14/1, T G McCourt and James Ryan, is the one I want to be on here. He races off a mark 5lb below the 62 it won from in January and has won here 10 times.
The risk is IMPERIAL DREAM, the only confirmed front-runner here — front-runners at this track win 2.4 times their share of these races, and an uncontested lead could be decisive.
The dangers are SOVEREIGN BANTER at 16/1 (a course winner) and BOSTON MAX at 3/1 (a course winner).
LAKE LUGANO at 9/4, Aidan O'Brien with Jack Cleary taking off 5lb, looks the pick of these. He comes from a yard in good heart at 20% and was placed on its only start on this ground.
The dangers are APRIL MIST at 13/2 and BELLE ISLAND at 50/1.
4 of these want to be on the pace, which usually means they go too quick and it falls to something coming from behind.
INSTITUTE at 50/1, Aidan O'Brien and Chris Hayes, is the one I want to be on here. He has had 3 of his last 4 starts on the wrong ground and trip, back to 5f today where he wins and his mark is 5lb lower for it and wears headgear for the first time.
The dangers are IPANEMA QUEEN at 13/2 (a course winner) and LIKEDBYMIKE at 33/1 (well handicapped).
A tricky one to unpick — most of these have barely been seen, so the stable and the booking matter more than the figures.
BEAUXVARUS gets the vote at 25/1 for Henry de Bromhead, ridden by Robbie Colgan. Henry de Bromhead is running at 19% over the past fortnight.
The dangers are ASTROWAY at 9/4 and BATTLE READY at 4/1.
SHAMROCK FLAME at 6/1, Robson De Aguiar and Donagh O'Connor, looks the most likely of these. He was staying on at the finish last time and is back quickly, ran 5 days ago.
The dangers are ASK ME AGAIN at 9/1 (went close off this mark) and TRUSTMORE at 4/1 (went close off this mark).
Newbury
LUCKY LUNA at no price yet, Richard Hannon with Toby Moore taking off 7lb, is the one I would side with. He has had his mark eased — 3 of the last 4 starts on the wrong ground, mark down 1lb and has the right side of the draw.
The risk is SAX AVOIDANCE, the only confirmed front-runner here — front-runners at this track win 2.4 times their share of these races, and an uncontested lead could be decisive.
The dangers are SAX AVOIDANCE at no price yet (went close off this mark) and PATAGONIA GIRL at no price yet (went close off this mark).
3 of these want to be on the pace, which usually means they go too quick and it falls to something coming from behind.
MISTER BLUEBIRD at no price yet, Heather Main with Toby Moore taking off 7lb, makes most appeal. He went close off this sort of rating, beaten 0.75L off 80 on 2 July 2025, should be suited by the ground, placed twice from 2 on it and gets a trip he has won over.
The one worry is weakened last time.
EGOLI rates higher on our figures but is passed over on the ground — never run on soft or heavy in 11 starts — and today is heavy.
The dangers are ANYASI at no price yet (went close off this mark) and MIRABEAU at no price yet (a course winner).
A tricky one to unpick — most of these have barely been seen, so the stable and the booking matter more than the figures.
I KNOW YOU BY NOW gets the vote at no price yet for Clive Cox, ridden by David Probert. Clive Cox is running at 19% over the past fortnight.
A hard race to weigh up with most of these unexposed, so the yard and the booking count for more than the form book.
MASAI LAND gets the vote at no price yet for William Haggas, ridden by Kaiya Fraser. William Haggas is running at 18% over the past fortnight.
BULLETIN at no price yet, Jonathan Portman and Rob Hornby, looks the pick of these. He ran a big race off much the same mark, beaten 0.5L off 84 on 18 April and has a telling booking — a rider who has won on it before returns.

The dangers are RAULIN at no price yet (went close off this mark) and BESIEGED at no price yet (in first-time headgear).
CIRCUIT BREAKER at no price yet, Jonjo & A.J. O'Neill and Jake Dickson, is the bet, and this is the profile the whole thing is built around. He has had 2 of his last 4 starts on the wrong trip, back to 16f today where he wins and his mark is 6lb lower for it and was staying on at the finish last time.
The one worry is long time without a win.

The one worry is long absence.
PUPPET MASTER at 9/4, Ciaran Murphy with Eoghan Finegan taking off 5lb, just about gets the nod. He is back quickly, ran 3 days ago and has a telling booking — a rider who has won on it before returns.
