Pappa Louis is our selection at Southwell, and his progressive profile is the reason we prefer him to Regalian, who is only three pounds better on our figures at 78 against his 75. In a tightly packed 13-runner Class 5 over 11 furlongs, a horse still on the upgrade can overturn that small gap. The dangers are Regalian himself, Light Speed (77) and I’d Go Maniac (76), all within a few pounds and capable of making this a tight finish. Pappa Louis looks the one to be with, as improvement can tip the balance in a closely matched contest.
